autumn leafs

autumns deep coloured leaves of orange, red and yellow

lit through the untuned rains

of an early morning grey.

the coffee steams as it sits in the cool dawning room.

the night beamed in the moonlit memory

as i desperately wiped off the lingering fragments away.

the frigid creek waters slowly draws in a hibernation course

as the frost kissed the bedded rock silently.

the warmth of tightly tucked sheets

found the snooze three times over.

in the bed of boughs

winter flirts.

the cold air wraps itself around me

as i stand from the bed.

i left her sleeping

as i started the shower;

i’ve been here before.

someone found me here;

and that same someone lost out

as the sun shone through the window

and burned off the chill.

flannel shirt n’ jeans

and pumpkin patches –

she wakes to me holding her.

autumns deep coloured leaves of orange, red and yellow

lit through the untoned rains

of an early morning grey.

the coffee steams as it sits in the cool dawning room.

the night beamed in the moonlit memory

as i desperately wipe off the lingering fragments away.

October Saturday morning farmers markets

and coffee sipping down sidewalks.

autumns deep coloured leaves of orange, red and yellow

lit through the untoned rains

of an early morning grey.

the coffee steams as it sits in the cool dawning room.

and where do we go from here?
