kisses rose in sunlight

the poet sat at his desk

sunlight dancing through sheer coloured curtains.

his chair creaks in daydreaming silence.

apart in temporary distances

a promise of running away to her;

a candle flame burning

basking in a future promise.

the words drawn and drawing,

pouring out from the tip of his pen

smoothly spelling out her name.

letter by letter,

the words painted her picture.

in all the thoughts that were

always bringing him back

to where he felt her hand in his.

shared laughter,

a warm embrace.

the poet sat at his desk.

thinking about the way

she guided him to a rescue;

a smile that was lost

now appears again!

the poet sat at his desk

sunlight dancing through sheer coloured curtains.

his chair creaking in daydreaming silence.

apart in temporary distances;

a promise of running away to her,

a candle flame burning,

basking in a future promise.

the words drawn and drawing,

pouring out from the tip of his pen

smoothly spelling out her name.
