shades of the shore

hands grasp sea water dreams

and naked skin wakes to the colour of morning.

open the curtains,

be greeted by daybreak’s standing ovation.

shades of the shore, draws one wanting more.

footsteps sink in the warm thick sands,

seagulls squawk in the dawn lit sky.

the cool morning air brushes through the evergreen palms,

and the calm cove waters begins a fisherman’s journey.

sun soaked skin bathes in crashing waves,

sandcastle delight, seaside might.

majestically, a three mast schooner dances and floats

and silhouettes itself up upon the watered horizon.

the harbour’s lighthouse stands tall,

looking over all who dares to dream,

dares to live –

to all who seeks the peace and calmness that the shoreline brings.

hands grasp sea water dreams

and naked skin wakes to the colour of morning.

open the curtains,

be greeted by daybreak’s standing ovation.

shades of the shore, draws one wanting more.
