when the lighthouse glows

when the lighthouse glows

shadows fade down

on the rowboat hidden.

under the upper peninsula’s cold solitude sky,

beneath the icy blanket pieces,

memories of a numbed affection

tied in twine,

there they lie.

when the lighthouse glows

shadows fade down

and swims away in the black midnight waters.

writer’s verse

when the words of phrase

get consumed in the rushing tides –

hide and seek i go.

recover me from the sands.

look for the message between the rocks.
