on the pedestal stands the woman

you never even thought that maybe you were

who i thought you were and who you are

*

so all this time i held you on this pedestal

you were always my queen, a sought queen of  the incredible

*

on this pedestal stands the woman,  to be known or never touched –

on the pedestal stands the woman

take all of me,  take all my heart

and bury it in this dirt,  take away this hurt

*

in my dreams and in all my days

i’ve seen your face, and the desire that carried the way

*

you never even thought that maybe you were

who i thought you were and who you are

*

so all this time i held you on this pedestal

you were always my queen, a sought  queen of the incredible

*

take all of me,  take all my heart

and bury it in this dirt,  take away this hurt
