and the tide rushes in

a phoenix sunset dressed in purple and orange

shows me the light in you,

a plane soars and goes unnoticed through the midnight dessert black

the stars shine but hides behind every cloud passing by in the sky

the cincinnati morning riverfront dawn

woke me and found me in the usual groggy daze

start the day off  in this maze – grab a cup of coffee

and there,  she still sleeps next to me – always next to me

queen of the ocean deep

current of the river sleep

the calming i can find

the tide is her,  and she comes rushing in

so deep within her peaceful waters –  i just drift away

the memory of answers splash ashore

they may come and go

but thought of  her keeps my mind awake and tries to stay afloat

the wanting to feel the love that’s needed

i want her and i desire to share such great feeling

turn the key and see

see what waits for you on the other side

oh queen of the sea calms the storm

forever in the heart,  come and see

a phoenix sunset dressed in purple and orange

shows me the light in you,

a plane soars and goes unnoticed through the midnight dessert black

the stars shine but hides behind every cloud passing by in the sky
